Brush Fire: Sorrento Valley--

A brush fire sparked in the Sorrento Valley area Monday morning and grew up to 40 acres within an hour, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue.

The fire sparked around 9:30 a.m. near the Interstate 5/I-805 split and quickly grew to several acres with a moderate to dangerous rate of spread, according to firefighter communications reported by the citizen fire reporting app, Watch Duty. Around 10:15 a.m., the fire was estimated to be 30-40 acres.
